Beloved Treasure

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. (Philippians 3:7-9)

Jesus is our most beloved treasure!

Looking at the Apostle Paul’s words, we can see a man who is free and joyful in his revelation of how precious Jesus is to him. Former things he once considered to be valuable are now considered garbage when compared to his relationship with Christ.

When we prize the Lord above all else, it protects us from feeling empty, fragmented and incomplete.

Gaining the revelation of how beloved Jesus is sets us free from trying to gain wholeness through other means.

The world will try to promise you wholeness and present temporary treasures, but they will never compare to the value of having Jesus Christ in your life.
  • He is the only treasure that is eternal.
  • He is the only treasure that will never fade.
  • He is the only treasure that gives you access to supernatural peace, joy and strength!

Even when you have moments in life where you feel like you have wandered, all you have to do is gently return your attention back to Him, reminding yourself that He is the only one who completes you.

No other person, place, or thing can make you whole like He can!

TODAY: Take time to reflect on the Lord’s goodness and what a treasure He is to you! If you’ve been feeling fragmented lately, be encouraged to gently turn back to Him and make Him your first love again. He longs to make you whole in Him!

What a devotion, full of strength and truth. He is indeed a treasure unlike any other. He is…

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

Peace Be With You

Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. (John 20:21)

Not long after Jesus’ resurrection, His disciples hid in a locked room, fearing that the same people who crucified Jesus would come and arrest them. It’s in the midst of their fearful circumstances that Jesus appears to them collectively, speaking words of peace over them.

But He doesn’t stop there.

He then tells His disciples that He is sending them out into the world. This means they are going to have to leave the safety of their locked room. But although their future is unknown, they are known by the One who holds the future. So wherever they go, and whatever they face, Jesus’ words will remain true: peace will be with them.

And Jesus continues to offer us this same peace.

We will all face hardship and difficulties. We all will go through seasons where we endure intense pain caused by struggling relationships, struggling economies, and struggling health crises.

But God’s peace isn’t based on our feelings or circumstances, which is why it’s something we can consistently experience.

God’s peace sometimes feels like a calmness in the midst of an anxious situation, or hope despite a discouraging diagnosis. It might look like unexplainable joy, or an unshakeable feeling that, regardless of what happens, God is still in control.

When our world rages, or the doctor shares something alarming, or the news reports are terrifying, God’s peace enables us to walk forward with confident assurance that the One who gives us peace goes with us. Jesus might not remove us from difficult situations, but He will always help us walk through them.

Outside pressures don’t have the power to take away God’s perfect peace that’s given to us through Jesus our Savior.

So take a few minutes today and thank Jesus for His peace that passes all understanding. Talk to Him about any concerns or worries you’re currently experiencing, and as you give them over to Him, envision Him saying to you, “peace be with you.”

Amen, Hallelujah! The moment I read this devotion it brought uplifting tears to my eyes. I pray you are encouraged and filled with His peace that passes all understanding, no matter your circumstance or situation.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

His Way is Perfect

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.(Psalm 18:30)

We have seen many reminders of God’s providential care throughout Joseph’s life and admired his faith and fortitude through the sorrows and injustices he suffered.  Hated by brothers whose jealousy drove them to sell him as a slave.  Falsely accused by his master’s wife, unfairly sentenced to prison, and forgotten.  Consider another example of faith in the providence of God recorded by David in Psalm 18:30.

It is easy to say, “the way of God is perfect” when we are free from trials and troubles; however, are we willing to trust the LORD when trials shadow our days?  Will we trust Him when we are like gold passing through a smelter’s fire?

When enemies malign us and friends betray us, will we, like David turn to God’s promises and hope in the LORD?  Will we trust Him as our “buckler” (a small shield for hand-to-hand combat), when an enemy means to harm us?

Are you facing trials?  Don’t lose hope!  Be confident “His way is perfect” and the fiery trials you are facing have the potential of purifying your heart like silver and strengthening your character like steel!

Give thanks to the LORD even before the trial is past knowing His mercies fail not (18:46-50)!

Hallelujah! I pray this devotion blesses you just as much as it blessed me and more. Think about some of the ways God has protected you. Then, take a moment to Praise God for all He has done.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

Bless Them and Pray

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. (Luke 6:28)

God, change the way I approach hard situations and difficult people. You have always had every right to hold Your anger against us—but instead, You died for us. In doing this, You blessed us with the opportunity to experience eternal life with You. Align my life with Your heart for the world. When I look at someone, help me see them the way You do and show me how to bless them. Amen.

I pray this is our hearts cry every single day, a new refreshing daily to love the seemingly unloveable and align our life with His heart for the world and those in our life at this very moment.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!
