Endure
10
Sep '20

It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. (2 Timothy 2:11)
If we deny Jesus, He will deny us… but if we become weak in our faith, He will remain faithful.
Doubt and unbelief are dealt with at the cross.
Jesus knows our faith will get wobbly at times, but denying Him is the only thing that will send Him and His presence away.
He says endure and you will reign…don’t give up and you will run your race!
You are the constant when I am weak, your faithfulness is there when mine is waning. You call me not to be superhuman, you simply require that I don’t give up.
If we endure, we will reign with Him; If we deny Him, He will deny us. (2 Timothy 2:13)
When I read this devotion I was reminded of Romans 1:28, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient”. My prayer is that you will choose to endure, remain steadfast in your faith and know when you do that, He will not turn you over to a reprobate mind but He will remain faithful. Run your race.

Speak With Self-Restraint
08
Sep '20

And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient. (2 Timothy 2:24)
We don’t have to avoid difficult conversations with anyone, but we do have to avoid quarreling and fighting.
The church must not be guilty of silence, but we have to speak with self-restraint.
Silence comes from the fear of man, but arguing comes from a failure to trust God.
If we speak with peace and integrity, we can be the voice of those who have no power or help!
God I don’t want to tempted into fear or silence when you prompt me to speak. Let me represent you well!
The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. (Proverbs 29:25)
When I read this devotion it blessed me. I pray after reading this you are encouraged to speak with restraint. Bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Remember to be even-tempered, preserving peace, patient and tolerant when wronged.

Your Prayers Make a Difference
03
Sep '20

For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.(1 Timothy 2:2)
God doesn’t qualify praying for “kings” (earthly leaders) with who they are or if we agree with them.
God urges us to pray specifically; be bold in the way you are praying for yourself and others.
Your prayers make a difference for all people.
Whether believers or unbelievers, they are all His!
Intercession changes the direction of war, famine, death and darkness.
We need prayer in a great way right now so let’s pray for our leaders to be under the influence of the Holy Spirit!
Father, anoint me to pray. Bless me with the gift of intercession, the deep desire to pray and knowledge of what you would have me pray.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior. (1 Timothy 2:3)
I felt this devotion went in hand with Tuesday’s devotion, we must pray. In the day and time we are living in, prayer is key for our leaders to be under the influence of the Holy Spirit, believer or unbeliever, God is far greater than any earthly leader or politician. It’s our prayers that create change and weather we agree with them or not it’s our responsibility to pray for all those in a position of leadership and leave the rest to God. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting, Matthew 17:21. Pray and fast for our earthly leaders.

Spiritual Slumber
01
Sep '20

Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. (1 Thessalonians 5:6)
Darkness covers our nation in pockets that fight to expand and occupy.
Spiritual slumber causes us not to feel any personal responsibility to intercede and to pray.
We have to bring the light of Jesus Christ.
Spiritual slumber can be subtle – It can cause us to miss the gravity of what’s happening on the earth or allow us to feel content with the notion that someone else is praying so we don’t need to….
Despair, racism and illness will bow down to the King of all Kings… because of our prayers.
Don’t believe your thoughts of being powerless. It is all “hands on deck” for prayer!!!
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. (1 Thessalonians 5:8)
What a powerful devotion. Let us not fall into spiritual slumber. We must remind ourselves, we are NOT powerless and that prayer changes things. Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work. All “hands on deck”. Matthew 18:20, For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
