Battle Plan

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11)

The enemy is real.

We don’t like to think about it, but Jesus warned us that our foe is subtle and watches for opportunities to derail us. (1 Peter 5)

We want God to take the hard situations from us, but its’ in His great mercy that He teaches us to fight.

War is unseen, but we feel it…God went to great lengths to equip you!!

I put on Gods armor when I pray, I put on Gods armor when I worship, I put on Gods armor by walking in His ways.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13)

I was so blessed by this devotion. Battle Plan: Pray, without ceasing – 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Fight, put on the whole armor of God – Ephesians 6:11. Trust, having done all stand – Ephesians 6:13. God went to great lengths to equip you, inform you and guide you. When you’ve done all you know to do, stand.

Perseverance

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (James 1:2-4)

Patience. If God can get that one trait in you, you WIN the battle and ultimately the war.

“What’s the first step to winning a war? Realizing you’re in one.” ~ Jeff Warren

Patience. Stay the course. Look ahead. One step at a time.

You may not feel like you can get through it, but you can.

If you aren’t strong enough, lean into others.

If you can’t find others then guess who is there ready and waiting for you to sit with Him?

Imploring you to get outside of your head and listen to Him and speak with Him.

The creator of the Universe is there to battle with you.

The circular thinking is tough to break out of,  but let it go, it will pass.

Once we stop trying to control everything we allow God to take control.

Don’t give up fighting. Let God wage war with you. Persevere and get ready for an epic victory!

When I read this devotion it reminded me that I am never fighting a battle on my own. He is the only true constant in our lives, He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is always faithful, always near, waiting for us to let it all go and allow Him to wage war with us. With Christ we are victorious.

The Bridge of Grace

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. (Colossians 3:13)

There you have it, people. It is so hard, so, so hard.

It is so much easier to hang onto anger. So much easier.

A grudge is like attempting to poison someone else, but drinking the poison yourself.

It rots you out, slowly and deceptively.

God has given us all grace. That arch, that bridge is so unbelievably important, so strong.

Walk on it, believe in it, and hold the hand of those who hurt you and take them across with you.

God is love, God is in you, YOU are love.

Fallen, broken world? Yes.  Redeemed and forgiven souls with the ability to spread grace. Yes!

Don’t hesitate as night cometh…

“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” (John 9:4-5)

“The bridge of grace will bear your weight, brother. Thousands of big sinners have gone across that bridge, yea, tens of thousands have gone over it. Some have been the chief of sinners and some have come at the very last of their days but the arch has never yielded beneath their weight. I will go with them trusting to the same support. It will bear me over as it has for them.”

Before the sun sets, choose forgiveness and grace.

Wow! What an image, I’ve never looked at grace as though it were a bridge but how powerful is that? I can remember so vividly, God taking my hand and walking with me across that bridge called Grace. If He can do it for me, I can in return, hold the hand of those who hurt me and take them across with me. We must be willing while it is still day to spread grace, walk on it, believe in it and let go of that grudge that  weighs us down. Forgiveness and Grace! Hallelujah!

Onward Christian Soldier!

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (John 16:12-15)

The truth wins. It always will.

It’s like holding your hand over a flashlight in the dark.

You can’t really completely cover it up. The light seeps through your fingers or illuminates your hand.

Truth in life is the same. We live in a broken world so untruths and lies will exist.

You may be on the wrong end of those at times.

Laugh and pray in the face of rumors and gossip.

As an anointed child of God, your steps are ordained.

Power on and let God be the breastplate against flaming arrows of untruth.

Remember, you are the one he left the ninety nine to go find.

Take heart brothers and sisters; seek the truth and the truth will set you free.

Remember, the truth is also seeking you, accept and progress.

Onward Christian soldier!

When I read this devotion it so uplifted and encouraged me. I pray today you say out loud, Onward Christian soldier! Remember this, He didn’t need us, He wanted us! Hallelujah!
