Press Toward The Mark

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away. (1 Peter 1:24)

Flesh… the fragile, temporary things that will always change, wither and cannot last forever.

We grieve over the job we didn’t get, the house we can’t buy and the relationships that change.

God says these things are like grass, beautiful for a short season then gone.

He sees what we can’t see. This life is a mere breath or vapor compared to our eternity and is not worthy of grief or sorrow!

We have earthly minds making it hard to grasp eternity.

God calls you into the depth of Him and asks for childlike faith. Your earthly life is only preparation for the eternal life.

TODAY: I open my hands and I release plans, expectations, agendas and consciously let you lead!

But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. (1 Peter 1:25)

When I read this devotion it blessed me so much. So often we are mislead by our own expectations, agendas and plans. Today, I pray you choose to open your hands and release plans, expectations, agendas and let Him lead. After reading this devotion I had to do some self reflection myself. I pray you do the same.

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14)

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

He Loves You Completely

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. (1 Peter 1:8)

Sometimes we get down on ourselves thinking we don’t have mature faith.

Loving God and professing Christ are profound acts of faith impossible to explain to those who don’t know Him.

Loving God grows in intensity as we begin to see Him in everything we experience and encounter His presence through the Holy Spirit.

God knew and loved us completely before we were born.

We will never be able to surprise God or “blow it” with Him.

TODAY: God, You moved heaven and earth for me and ultimately revealed yourself through Jesus. I celebrate and receive all you do to be close to me.

O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. (Psalm 139:1-4)

When I read this devotion I felt someone needed to be reminded of this as much as I did. I pray you remember Psalm 139 each and every day. He loves us completely, oh hallelujah!

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

Set Apart

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. (1 Peter 1:16)

Everything about God is holy.

But what exactly is holiness?

The Hebrew translates “holy” as “to be set apart”.

As the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, He is set apart from all other false gods.

As God’s obedient and beloved children, we are called to be Holy and set apart just as He is.

The day we started our walk with God and accepted Him into our heart, we are called to never again shape our lives by the world’s standards or by the desires that once ruled us before knowing Him.

Instead, we are to shape our lives in accordance with the Holy Spirit and the standard of His word.

Every day, we should prepare our minds and hearts for action. We must roll up our sleeves and be on alert for what the Holy Spirit is doing and what He is speaking to us. By living each day with holy awe and reverence, our hearts will be in a better position to hear from Him and be sensitive to His direction.

Keep in mind, true holiness is not just about doing good things, but also about what we absorb and manifest by dwelling in God’s holy presence. Christ himself is our holiness, as His grace has also imbedded holiness into our lives, further helping us to yield to the Holy Spirit living inside us!

To be holy is to be completely devoted to God. It is to be a true representative of who He is and His kingdom.

When we walk into a room, our love for Jesus should be tangible, because He is walking in there with us.

He did not call us to blend in or be invisible among a crowd, but instead to be walking lighthouses of His glory and freedom-giving love!

Understand today that you are seated in Heavenly places with God. Walk in your true identity as His beloved son or daughter, knowing you have been set apart for holiness!

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!
