your daily crossroad

Rejoice in the Lord alway

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. (Philippians 4:4)

How wonderful is this truth?

The Lord is the source of our joy and strength!

We don’t have to put pressure on ourselves to try to dig up joy where it cannot be found. God has everything we need in this life and beyond!

Because we have been united with Christ, He is the giver of our hope, peace, comfort, joy and strength.

Even in difficult seasons, you can still have His joy.

His word says to be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life!

We don’t have to wait for life to be perfect and problem-free in order to access all that He has for us. Since He is always with you, the joy and peace of His life-changing presence is always available to you.

When you accepted Jesus into your heart, He sanctioned you to rise above all circumstances of life. As children of God, we are not held down by the weight of the world.

As you go through today, ponder on what He has done for you and all He’s already given.

Whispering His name and saying, “Jesus, you are my joy” is all it takes to remind you of His never-changing presence.

This devotion blessed me, I pray it encourages you to whisper, “Jesus, you are my joy”.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

My Times are in His Hands

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

There is a time for every season in our lives, and God is our ultimate guide through those seasons.

Sometimes we may know exactly what the next step is, and we long to spring into action before God gives us the green light. Or on the other hand, sometimes we may know God has given us the nudge to move along, yet we choose to dig our heels into the ground.

Change can be scary, especially if we’re going from a comfortable season into a new one of uncharted territory.

However, knowing that God is with us even in the unknown, we can have peace. We can trust Him in every season, familiar and new. Exciting and scary.

The course of our lives is in His power!

My times are in thy hand…” –Psalms 31:15

Wherever the Lord leads you, choose to cling to Him no matter what. He’s got you, and He’s not letting you go. Ever!

He holds every one of our moments in His hands, and since He knows what’s best for us, we can choose to follow Him wherever He leads in delightful obedience.

Have you been stepping into a new season lately?
How do you feel? Are you excited? Scared? Unsure?

Whatever is on the other side of the new season, you can know that everything will be okay because He is going with you and before you!

When I read this devotion it blessed me so much. We are all facing a season in our lives and our seasons all look very different but one thing is the same, everything will be okay, because just as todays devotions explains so powerfully, He is going with you and before you. Hallelujah! What more reassurance is needed.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

Delight in God

Psalm 119:89-95

Recalling God’s faithfulness and control over everything that touches us gives us strength to walk with God even when we feel like giving up in despair.  After all, our feelings and circumstances have not changed God.  He is perfectly capable of sustaining us if we will only let Him.  We simply need to choose to delight in and diligently consider God’s precepts (His principles and character) despite how we feel.  Choosing to delight in God might not be easy.  It might even involve hard work.  But only God can revive and save our soul from spiritual lethargy.

Next time you feel spiritually drained or inadequate, remember that you have a choice.  You can wrap yourself up in excuses and self-pity, or you can choose to draw your strength from an unchanging God.

When I read this portion of a devotion I felt someone needed to read it and be reminded of it’s words. So powerful. You have a choice.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

Praise Him for His Word

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. (Isaiah 40:8)

God, the earth is fragile—but You are not. You remain faithful and steadfast forever. Your Words are timeless and Your promises are trustworthy and true. Thank You for allowing me to draw close to You each day by meditating on Your Word. What a blessing it is to know You, and be known by You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Amen and Amen! What a powerful truth.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

Help Me Persevere

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (Romans 5:3-5)

Jesus, You chose to suffer on the cross for the sake of the world. And because of Your suffering, I can spend eternity with You. Thank You for showing me what it looks like to suffer well. Thank You for becoming my source of hope. When I encounter trials of any kind, please use those moments to refine my character and to keep my heart focused on You. Amen.

One word came to mind when I read this, hallelujah! 🙂

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

Show Me How to Live

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

God, I want my life to be a bright example of Your love. So please give me the courage to approach every person I meet with compassion and empathy. Show me how to live generously, and how to serve others without expectations. Let my actions be marked with humility so that people glorify Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I pray this is our hearts desire, every single day. “I want my life to be a bright example of Your Love”.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

I Am here to help

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. (Isaiah 41:13)

Hear the Lord saying to you today, “Don’t be afraid, my beloved, I am here to help.”

Is there something in your life that has caused you to be afraid?

Is there something worrying you?

Do you feel alone and as if there is no one to understand or help you?

Regardless of whether we are able to sense Him by our side or not, it does not change the truth that He will never leave us and never abandon us.

In this life on earth, it is easy to be distracted by all the noise. It can be easy to feel as though you are alone in your journey.

While God never promises us a life without problems or challenges, He does promise us that He will never leave us during those tough times.

He promises to hold onto us and stay by our side even amidst fearful situations. He promises to strengthen us, protect us, and uphold us with His righteous right hand!

While the number varies depending on the translation, the phrase “fear not” is found over 300 times in the Bible! This is a constant reminder that we need not submit to fear and that we can trust in our savior.

Whenever you begin to feel fear and doubt creeping in, remember that you have authority over the power of the enemy! Tell Satan to get lost and remind yourself that the Lord is with you in that very moment, holding your entire world in His hands.

If you’ve struggled with being afraid lately, know that the Lord is speaking to you today in loving reassurance. He wants you to know He has not forgotten about you, He has not let go, and He certainly has never left you alone.

As you go through your day, be at peace knowing your Heavenly Father holds you by your right hand. As His beloved children, we are never too old or too independent to seek comfort from our Heavenly Father!

I read this devotion on a day I needed it most, I woke up feeling such a heaviness in my spirit, but God. The moment I read this devotion and allowed Isaiah 41:13 to sink deep into my spirit I felt the heaviness lift. Was it a day full of perfection, no, I had to choose to find the beauty in the day and I did just that. I know no matter what I face, He is holding my right hand, saying, “Don’t be afraid, my beloved, I am here to help.” I encourage you today to take Isaiah 41:13 with you throughout your day and remind the enemy just who is holding your hand and speaking into your situation and your entire day.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

The Holy Spirit

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. (Matthew 3:16)

Have you ever sat and watched a flock of birds? Most species of birds are very sensitive and will take flight at even the slightest disturbances.

In particular, doves are extremely sensitive.

In scripture, the dove is a symbol of meekness and purity.

The lamb is also described as meek, and was often used for burnt sacrificial offerings.

In this passage, Jesus is the lamb of God with the dove of the Holy Spirit coming to rest upon Him.

Why did the dove choose to rest on Jesus? Because of His meekness, purity and humble nature. Doves only choose to land in places where there are no disturbances.

If we want the Holy Spirit to rest on us, we have to adopt the nature of the Lamb, which is the nature of Jesus.

Since the Holy Spirit lives inside us, every word, action, attitude and movement of our hearts affects Him.

How we act and whatever nature we choose to adopt will either please or grieve the Holy Spirit.

Thankfully, the Holy Spirit will never leave us even when we mess up. However, the more we become transformed from the inside out and become more like Jesus, the more the Holy Spirit is able to operate in our lives in a tangible way.

Today, how can you be mindful of the dove of the Holy Spirit living within you?

When I read this devotion it blessed me. It was a needed reminder that The Holy Spirit never leaves you and I, ever. I was reminded of this quote, “The Holy Spirit accompanies God’s Word to bring revelation of Christ, resulting in transformation. Amen and Hallelujah! Be transformed daily by The Holy Spirit.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

You are Beautiful!

Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead. (Song of Solomon 4:1)

Did you know that you are beautiful?

Not just pretty or handsome, not just alright, or acceptable, but beautiful and radiant in the eyes of God?

It can be hard for us to believe this about ourselves sometimes. The enemy loves to attack our minds and lower our confidence in Christ.

Satan doesn’t want us to view ourselves the way God does. Satan wants us to feel ugly, unworthy and unloved.

But in the face of God’s perfect love, the lies of Satan fade away like dust!

Every day we are being transformed to be more like Jesus.

In our loving pursuit of God, we become reflections of His own beauty and goodness since we are made in His beautiful image!

God created you unique and with intentionality. The sound of your voice, the color of your skin, your eyes, your height, your personality, your passions, your quirks… everything about you He adores! You are His living, breathing masterpiece, workmanship and poetry!

Be encouraged today that God sees you as beautiful, radiant, valued, gifted and loved. He does not view you through the lens of the world. He doesn’t view you in the lens of yesterday’s mistakes or past sins. He views you the same way He views Jesus, made righteous by His blood. You are pure, whole, lovely, radiant, strong, a warrior, valued, desired, cherished, treasured, beautiful and extravagantly loved beyond measure!

“Lord, thank you for transforming myself into your image and helping me to see myself the way you do!”

“Extravagantly Loved”, wow, what a way to describe God’s love for us. When I read this devotion it brought a smile to my face. It caused me to pause and reflect on the truth that “He created you and I unique and with intentionality”. No matter what lies the enemy is trying to feed you, remember this devotion, “You are pure, whole, lovely, radiant, strong, a warrior, valued, desired, cherished, treasured, beautiful and extravagantly loved beyond measure!” Hallelujah!

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

Constant Companion & Counselor

Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. (Psalm 73:23-24)

The Lord is your counsel, and He holds you by your right hand!

When fear and anxiety seem to be plaguing your mind, stop and whisper the name of Jesus.

Remind yourself that He is with you continually, and not one moment goes by where He hasn’t been by your side.

Just as a child runs to their father or mother and grabs their hands for guidance when walking, so can we grab the hand of our Heavenly Father!

In the same way, just when a child goes to their elders for advice and wisdom, so can we go to our Heavenly Father for His divine counsel.

When we face big decisions in our lives, lean in with prayer.

Thank the Lord we have Him to go to in prayer and can seek His face freely! He will be faithful to give you His counsel and guidance.

After you have prayed, thank Him that His will be done and release the outcome into His hands.

No matter what you need guidance for, know that the Lord is always with you and the Holy Spirit is there to be your constant companion and counselor. Regardless of whether your life’s circumstances are currently rocky or smooth, cling to the hand of your Heavenly Father. He will never let you go or allow you to be separated from His love!

When I read this devotion my first thought was, we as the children of God need to pause, take a moment, and “Grab the hand of our Heavenly Father today”. “Seek His face freely”. What power! Amen!

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

I Don’t HAVE to, I GET to

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; (Colossians 4:2)

Be vigilant in thanksgiving today

Thankfulness and gratitude are vital to have every day because it helps clear our minds and draws us closer to the Lord.

Gratitude keeps our hearts open and yielding to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Instead of viewing tasks with the mindset of, “I have to do this,” try viewing it with, “I get to do this.”

This one little change can aid in transforming our mindset and help us face the work that needs to be done more joyfully and with confidence.

As we train ourselves to view challenges as a privilege and opportunities for growth, our hearts will be filled with more gratitude.

Even as you go through these challenges and work on tasks, you can still be in constant, earnest prayer throughout the day. Doing this will keep you in close communication with the Holy Spirit, who is your holy helper, your constant companion and counselor.

Ask Him to help you when you are overwhelmed and in need, and He will give you the solutions.

Today, whatever tasks need to be done, work at it with all your heart and with thanksgiving!

When I read this devotion it left such an imprint. I pray it blesses you too. I don’t have to, I get to.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

Walk in The Spirit

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:17)

Since you are set apart from the world, refuse to live the way the world demands you live.

As sons or daughters of the most high God, we are called to be set apart as representatives of His kingdom. By seeking the Lord and understanding what His will is for us, we honor Him.

How many times have we jumped headfirst into something before seeking the Lord about it? How many times have we done or committed to something without consulting the Lord’s will?

By walking in the Spirit instead of the world, we actively seek out God’s will instead of submitting to the flesh or the will of the world.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16)
By being in tune with the Holy Spirit instead of the flesh, having confidence in what the Lord’s will is comes much easier.

Because you are called to be set apart, you carry the kingdom of God with you wherever you go.

When you walk into a room, Jesus is walking in there with you because you are a carrier of His presence!

Today, seek the Lord in what His will is for your daily life. He longs to be involved and included in your daily decisions! You can have peace and joy knowing that His will for you is the best there is!

“Lord, thank you for helping me to seek your will above the will of the world. As a carrier of your kingdom and presence, I desire to be in tune with the Holy Spirit so that I may influence those around me and point them to you!”

“His will for you is the best there is”. I love this! I pray you are encouraged by this devotion to be in tune with the Spirit.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

He is Never Changing

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. (Isaiah 54:10)

Jesus, I am so thankful that no matter what I do, and no matter what happens, I cannot be separated from Your love. The world around me may be constantly changing, but I know I can count on You because You are never changing. Help me to feel steady and at peace in all situations because I know You, Lord. Amen.

A simple yet powerful prayer, I pray it is food for your soul today.

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

Are You in Need of Joy today?

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. (Philippians 4:4)

No matter what season you are in, you can still have joy!

The joy we receive from the Lord transcends circumstances.

Regardless of what is happening in the world or around us in our personal lives, the supernatural joy of the Lord can still be found.

You don’t have to wait around while being a slave to life’s circumstances in order to have joy in your heart.

You don’t have to depend only on what you see in the natural.

As a child of the most high God, you have been sanctioned to rise above all circumstances of life!

Knowing how good He is through your personal relationship with Him and knowing how much He cares for you also gives you joy.

His incredible love alone, who He is and what He has promised you are all reasons to rejoice in every season!

Are you in need of joy today?

Know that the Lord longs for you to receive it, for He has already paid the price for you to have it!

As His beloved child, His joy that is your strength is your birthright! Don’t let the enemy rob you of what rightly belongs to you!

Today, take a moment to whisper to yourself, “Lord, you are my joy.”

“Lord, thank you that I can rejoice in every season of life, no matter what! Help me to remember your goodness, grace and incredible love. Thank you for helping me to access the heavenly joy you’ve already given me!”

When I read this devotion I was blessed by it. As it says, take a moment today and whisper to yourself, or shout it for the world to hear, it’s your choice, “Lord, You are my joy.”

Have a beautiful and uplifting day in The Lord!

My Concerns

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. (John 15:16)

He chose you!
